Get show dates delivered to you

28 Jun 2014 In: General

Hi, all. I wanted to point something out for anyone who might not know: there is a small link at the bottom of the Schedule page on this site that will let you add Heather’s performances to your Google Calendar, iCal app, or just about any other calendar.

If you look at the end of the list of shows and just above the “Share this:” bit, there is a link to “Subscribe: RSS | iCal”. Right-click on the “iCal” link, and you should get a context menu containing an option similar to “Copy link” or “Copy link location”; click on that option.

What follows is an example of how to add this to Google Calendar. Go to your Google Calendar and look on the left side under the small monthly calendar. You’ll see “Other calendars” with a little down-arrow to the right of it. Click on the arrow and select “Add by URL” from the menu that appears. A dialog box will appear; in the entry box next to “URL:”, right-click and paste the link you copied into this box. Click the “Add Calendar” button and after a few seconds, a new calendar should appear in the list of “Other calendars”. If you want to change the name of the calendar, click the little down-arrow next to the name and select “Settings”, then change the name to whatever suits you.

What you’ll have is an entry for each scheduled show, and whenever a new show is scheduled, it will appear as well.

Procedures for adding the calendar to other applications should be similar, but I’ll try to post specific information here when I can.

New Video: The World

4 Mar 2014 In: Videos

If you know what it’s like to be afraid to be who you are, this is for you. If you are on the other side of that dilemma struggling with accepting someone you love because a dwindling part of “The World” says you shouldn’t, this is also for you. I believe with all my heart that, sooner than later, the world will come around. There is enough love for all of us.

The video is not the greatest quality, so I’m posting the words here for anyone interested.

THE WORLD by Heather Little

Come out, come out, whoever you are
You have nothing to fear in me
A son can only hide so long
It’s not as dark as it used to be

Everybody loves you
Everyone who matters
Even if their heart’s gone missing
They care, they’re in there somewhere

And the world will come around
The world will come around
At your feet there is a common ground
The hands will drop the stones
Hey, love, “to each his own”
I know you can’t see it now,
But the world come around

Wake up, old man, your daughter’s crying
She’s the same little girl you raised
Your son is shining bright for you
What you see is the man you made

Everybody loves you
Everyone who matters
Even if their heart’s gone missing
They care, they’re in there somewhere

The world will come around
The world will come around
At your feet there is common ground
The hands will drop the stones
Hey, love, “to each his own”
I know you can’t see it now,
But the world come around

Everybody loves you
Everyone who matters
Even if their heart’s gone missing
They care, they’re in there somewhere
The world will come around
The world will come around
I know you can’t see it now
But I believe, the world will come around

Heather will be at The Forge in Ben Wheeler tonight (January 9th, 2014) with the incomparable Matt Bradshaw. They’ll be playing your favorites and then some—and you never know when you’ll hear something brand-new! Come on out!
