From their website:
The Pegasus Project, Inc. is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of neglected, abandoned or abused horses in East Texas.
They are an amazing organization, and 100% of money donated to Pegasus goes directly to care of the rescued horses (feed, veterinary care, hay, farrier, etc.). Equally amazing: all the horses rescued to date have been able to return to normal lives.
The photo above is of Geronimo, one Pegasus’s rescues, who is currently available for adoption.
The Grand Opening event will be held on the Pegasus Project grounds (see their website for info) in Murchison, Texas. Gates will open at 3pm, with dinner at 6pm. There will be a tour of the grounds, you will meet the staff and trainers, and they will be introducing all of their horses and showcasing some. There is an air-conditioned tent, and lots of shade. There will be a raffle for Southwest Airlines tickets, a silent auction, live music (of course), and dinner catered by Soulman’s Barbecue.
Admission is $50 per adult and $20 for children 10-18 years old. Discounted tickets are available prior to the event by phone (903-707-5866) or on the website. Children under 10 get in free with an adult.
Also, if you can’t make it to the event but want to support their mission, you can still purchase raffle tickets by phone (903-707-5866), or see their website (http://MyPegasusProject.org) for other ways you can help.
